Divemaster

 

Take the first step in your dive career and become a PADI Divemaster. Working closely with a PADI Instructor, you'll expand your dive knowledge and hone your skills as you become a dive professional. PADI Divemaster training develops your leadership abilities by training you to supervise dive activities and assist instructors with student divers.

How long will it take?

The course consists of 3 separate areas of coverage plus the DAN o2 Oxygen Provider Course.

Each candidate will complete eight instructor lecture sessions as well as the eight required exams that correspond respectively.

  • Dive Equipment
  • Recreational Dive Planner & the Wheel
  • Physics
  • Physiology
Each candidate will complete pool evaluation sessions with an instructor as follows.
  • Equipment exchange and skill circuit evaluation.
  • Float, tired diver tow, & 400 yd swim tests.
  • Rescue scenario & 800 yd snorkel swims.
Each candidate will complete Practical Applications.

This involves a hands on role where the candidate will serve as instructional assistant to a PADI instructor. The objectives are to gain familiarity with the diver-training process, develop an awareness of typical student problems, and learn how to control and supervise diving activities in general. The internship consists of three parts outlined below.

  • Assist with students in training.
  • Assist with logistics.
  • Design and layout an open water site plan as well as a site specific emergency plan.

 

 

We have weekly classroom to cover appropriate amounts of material, and tests. The pool is scheduled on an as needed basis for water work and practice, along with practical applications, in assisting with classes and student divers. PADI programs are performance based. You proceed as you demonstrate mastery of the course skills. This allows you to work at a pace that is comfortable for you.

The course fee is $700.00 per candidate.
